This was a BIG week! Just for you to see how big, let me remind you where we started:
Where do I start? I just love it all! Last week I was wondering why I decided to do a kitchen for One Room Challenge, but this week I am glad!! Because in just a week our kitchen will be fully functional… and beautiful! If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen updates day by day but I’ll give you all the deetz here.
THE NEW + IMPROVED DRAWERS
As I said in week two, my dad owns a kitchen and stairwell remodeling company so I asked my parents and my brother what they love about their beautiful and updated kitchens. They both mentioned their deep drawers for storing plates and appliances. I knew we wouldn’t be buying all new cabinets so I searched around for our options. We ended up going with these pull out drawers from Lowes and I’m so happy with them! They pull all the way out (key!) and we can easily access everything without knocking other things over.
After we installed the drawers we put all of the sealed cabinet doors back on and I got my drawers organized!
As you may have seen, we got our wallpaper in on Tuesday and I went right to work! It took me about 3.5 hours to hang, cut & trim and I am in love!
I love it! I love that it is bold, yet neutral. It ties in perfect with our walls, pendants, and even appliances. But the wallpaper would not look nearly as good if we did not have recessed lighting. Yesterday, my electrician came out and installed three recessed lights and two more pendants above the island. This did the trick for me! It is so much brighter and cleaner. Before the recessed lights were installed you couldn’t see our beautiful white pendants because all the light was only below the light fixture. And now there truly is LIGHT! And some pretty fabulous wallpaper.
STILL TO COME
Next week will be the big reveal of everything finished and in it’s decorated, beautiful place! My hubby is in the process of building reclaimed wood shelves and those will make a big impact! My brother and sister in law and my parents shipped us some of their leftover polished nickel hardware, which I am incredibly thankful and excited for! We haven’t decided which kind we will use so stay tuned for next Thursday’s blog post!
